Closed Case List Last Updated: July 24th, 2008
The Closed Case List is a searchable list that contains information about inspections closed by the Department of Health starting in January 1993. Abated properties have received Certification of Lead-Safe Status. This Certification is in effect from the date issued as long as conditions remain the same, and must be renewed on an annual basis.
If you have concerns about a property, consider talking to the landlord, contacting the health department and calling local advocacy groups.
Definitions:
- Abatement Complete
- All lead hazards were abated and the case was closed by the Department of Health.
- Closed Limited Directed Inspections
- Closed limited directed inspection where performed in 1997 when the Department of Health did not have a staff certified lead inspector available. These cases were subsequently closed after a minimum of 90 days after owner notification.
- Parent-Owners, Ongoing Violation
- Cases where the property owner is a parent or grandparent of the poisoned child, and the owner is unwilling or cannot afford to correct all of the lead hazards, the Health department closes the case after 90 days with the existing violation remaining.
- Closed Pending Soil
- Until September 2001, cases were closed with soil hazards remaining. After September 2001, soil abatement became an element of the Department of Health's lead safety requirements.
